Introduction to Hob Nob Chardonnay

This week I’m focusing on Hob Nob Chardonnay.  At the store, I was immediately drawn to the clean sophistication of the label.  The black, silver and yellow work well together and I like the black on black tone in the label design.  I knew I was hooked as soon as I turned the bottle around and read the back label.

I loved the definitions of Hob Nob….chumming around, informal get togethers, and more.  I’ve always been a firm believer that the best wine is one shared with friends.  This is clearly a social brand brimming with personality and I’m anxious to learn more.

Soon it was time for my favorite part of wine….the suspense of the cork.  I know, a couple weeks ago, Big House Wines did open my mind to a screw cap wine, but there will never be the same anticipation that their is with a cork bottle.  I carefully removed the foil from the top.

Then, I discovered the cork was a black synthetic design.  I really have mixed feelings about synthetic corks…they just don’t have the same personality as a real cork.  However, I have found some of the designs are much more detailed and interesting than traditional cork designs.  I was anxious to see the design that this black cork would hold.

The cork was a simple Hob Nob logo design.  I really like the pattern of this logo and I’m already thinking of jewelry design elements that might work well with the overall brand direction.  More to come tomorrow as I take my first sips and explore the taste of Hob Nob Chardonnay.
