This week the focus is on a cult beer from Michigan – Bell’s Hopslam.  Living just outside of Detroit, Bell’s beer has been one of my favorites – especially Oberon in the summertime!  However, I must have been living under a rock to not know about Hopslam.  This brew is only available in the wintertime and is VERY difficult to get your hands on.  I’ll go into that more later this week.

While I was intrigued by the stories I was hearing about the beer itself, the designer in me was drawn to the graphics.  I love the image on the label and was delegated to find that the same image is carried onto the bottle cap!

I think the image is very whimsical and fits the “Hopslam” name perfectly.  I can honestly say that from the packaging design I’m not sure what direction I’ll take the jewelry in this week….we’ll just have to see where the inspiration leads!  Stop back tomorrow and see what I thought of the taste of this “hard to get your hands on” brew.
