Two nights ago, with a glass of Goodie Two-Shoes Pinot Noir in hand, I realized that I was a bit overwhelmed by the Middle Sister design project. I wanted to start designing one necklace at a time and was quickly discovering that I needed to know the direction all ten of the designs were going to take before a could actually “make” any of them.

Organizing the Beads

While the designs were jumbled in my head, my collection of beads was also a literal mess. I had baskets and bags full of awesome beads I’ve picked up at stores and shows in the last few months that were totally unorganized. I decided it was time to go through them, get organized and then start designing.

I jumped into the project with excitement and rigor….then, after about two hours, I realized the organizing process was going to take days to get it the way I wanted. So, last night, I moved on to “Plan B”.

Setting the Vision

I decided to use the beads in their “semi-organized” state on the table and start laying out design directions for each of the Middle Sisters. First, I spread each of the inspiration pages out on the table and put Rebel Red in place to “watch” the process:

Then, I started laying beads on each of the pages. Some of the sisters flew together without even thinking, others took much longer to find the combinations that worked just right. As I put the beads on the paper, I also added notes about which “artifacts” (glass, label, cork, etc.) from the bottle I planned to use in each design. The vision for the length of the necklace was jotted down as well.

By the end of the evening, there they were. Ten design directions that I’m totally excited about!!

Each one has it’s own unique personality, just like the girls. Tonight, I will now be able to sit down and start creating pieces without the stress I had two days ago.

Summary

I’m amazed each week with each brand the different design challenges they put in front of me and what it takes for me to overcome the design blocks. This time it was the complexity of the project that had me stumped. In the end, all it took was papers spread on a table with beads out in the open to get me from confusion to clarity.

Cheers! Lori

The inspiration boards are complete, ideas have been flowing, and designs are starting to emerge. I continue to be very excited about this process and the designs. After thinking it through, I decided that I’m going to start rolling out designs one at a time instead of in one big post next week. That way, I have more opportunity to talk about the design process for each of the sisters instead of just a little info in one long post. You’ll start seeing those posts in the next day or two.

Until then, here is another fun thing I came across on the Middle Sister Facebook page. The brand is suggesting you print out a picture of Rebel Red, take it on a road trip with you, take photos, and upload them to the Middle Sister site:

Just another example of Middle Sister making their brand fun…..something fans want to be a part of. I’m not headed out on vacation anytime soon, but I thought it might be fun to play along anyway. So, Rebel Red is now following me around the house on my jewelry design journey. Here she is rooting me on as I finished up the inspiration boards on my computer:

Last night I opened a bottle of Drama Queen Pinot Grigio, enjoyed a wonderful glass, and got to work on design inspiration boards for the jewelry.

So, what is an inspiration board? I think that depends on the artist. For me, an inspiration board is a collection of words and images that expresses the feeling that I would like the jewelry I create to convey.

I knew right away that inspiration boards would work great for this project. They would help me better understand and draw out the differences in the personalities of each of the Middle Sisters. With all of their information in one place, I am able to better visualize the types of designs that would be perfect for each of them.

I’ll walk you through the journey I took in creating a board for one of the sisters – Forever Cool.

Step 1 – The Background

Right from the Middle Sister website, I pulled in the photo of Forever Cool and her background story. That description paired with the photo gave me the first impression of this Middle Sister. I saw her as a flower child of the 60′s. The story talked about marching to the beat of a different drummer and striving to stay forever young.

Step 2 – Pinterest Inspiration

The next stop in my inspiration journey was Pinterest. Middle Sister has created a board for each of the girls showing the things that they love. As I pulled the images, I quickly realized that Forever Cool is not a a girl stuck in the past, but rather one who has pulled those beliefs and values into 2012. She believes in reduce, reuse and recycle. Items repurposed into something new that is useful and beautiful to look at immediately draw her attention. She also gardens and appreciates the beauty that can be created in these outdoor spaces.

Step 3 – Inspiration from the Blog

The final stop on my inspiration collection tour was the Middle Sister blog. They had just done a wonderful post on Mother’s Day gifts that each sister would appreciate. Again, that suggestion gave insight into Forever Cool’s personality. For her, the suggestion was wine bottles repurposed into beautiful works of art – reinforcing the style I had observed on Pinterest.

In addition to the fun post on Mothers’ Day gifts, each of the Middle Sisters post on a variety of topics on the blog. As I scanned the posts from Forever Cool, she brings topics like gardening, healthy eating, and more.

Step 4 – Summary Words and Jewelry Ideas

After pulling all the information I could to get to know Forever Cool, I wrote two quick lists – Words of Inspiration and Jewelry thoughts. For this sister, here’s what I ended up with:

Words of Inspiration – Eco Chic, Earth Friendly, Healthy, and Natural

Jewelry Thoughts – Upcycled and Recycled elements that tell a story and look beautiful

What Next?

Last night, I completed step 4 of the boards for six of the 10 sisters. Today, I plan to finish the other four and then move on to the next phase of the process – I’ll be using the white space on each of the pages to add notes, attach photos of beads, and maybe even start sketching out some design ideas.

As the final boards come together, I’ll do another post so you can see the direction each design is taking.

Do any of you use inspiration boards as you design? Are you pinning on Pinterest to discover styles that you like? If so, I would love to hear your experiences!

There is so much awesome content for the backstory on Middle Sister Wines that I almost don’t know where to begin! I’ve decided to highlight a few of the great things I came across in this post and I know I’ll cover more as I continue the design process.

The Wine Sisterhood

The Wine Sisterhood was created by three women in the wine industry in California – Terry Wheatley, Mary Ann Vangrin, and Natalie Wassum.

The trio has established a number of wine brands….including Middle Sister….and developed a true online community for women who love wine. Here’s how they describe that community on their website:

Wine Sisterhood is an online community where women can join the conversation about wine, food, travel, style and entertaining. We know that sisterhood is powerful, and our mission is to entertain, educate, inform, and inspire. The idea for the Wine Sisterhood was sparked through actual conversations with our friends and colleagues. We set out to create a fun, friendly space online where women — like you — could talk, learn and share their wisdom.

The Website

As soon as you arrive at the Middle Sister website, you know that this is not your traditional wine website. The colors are bright, the illustrations are fun, and while the wine is shown at the top of the page it is not necessarily the focus.

The overall layout of the page is more like a newsletter than a website and I quickly found myself reading, clicking and jumping around the site. While the look is unique, I found it very intuitive to navigate. Everything I was looking for I could easily find.

The links to YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter were front and center and caused me to jump to those sites and take a look. After learning a bit more, I also discovered that Middle Sister has a Pinterest page. I think it would be great if that link were as prominent as the others.

Another great section on the website is the photo gallery. On the photo pages, you quickly realize what a strong community Middle Sister has created. Fans of the brand are encourage to submit their photos…and they have! Great pictures of women having fun with their sisters and enjoying the wine at the same time.

Fun at Every Turn

It seemed like wherever I went on the web I found Middle Sisters content that made me smile. On their Facebook page, they had these cute images and quotes for Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby:

On YouTube, I was able to find lots of videos – some fun, some informative. Here is my very favorite on the fun side:

Bringing the Sisters to Life

As I toured the web finding Middle Sisters content and gathering inspiration for the jewelry designs, I found two places where the brand is really bringing the personality of each of the sisters to life. On Pinterest, each sister has their own board where they pin things they “love” – from shoes, to home decor, recipes, and more – you can truly discover the personality of each of the girls.

The other spot where the sisters express their point of view is on the Middle Sister blog. In the three posts shown below you can see the personality of three of the girls at the forefront - Sweetie Pie covering a picnic, Drama Queen showing us the latest spring fashions, and Goodie Two-Shoes focuses on the tablescape.

Summary

I continue to be amazed as I learn more about the Middle Sister brand and the Wine Sisterhood. This organization is truly making wine accessible and fun for women across the US. I’m excited to dive deeper into Pinterest and the blog to explore the personality of each of the sisters and create a vision for each of their jewelry designs.

Cheers!

I’ve spent the last few days learning more about the Middle Sister brand and I’ve made a decision to put a little twist in my regular schedule. As I started thinking about the designs for the week, there was an idea that stuck in my head. I want to design a piece of jewelry for each of the sisters.

To do this, I need to study each of them a bit more and the design process will take a bit longer. I plan to give updates every couple of days on how the design process is going and keep you in the loop as I try new techniques. I’ll be posting the final designs for all ten sisters on Monday, May 21st.

In the meantime, you’ll get to come along on my design journey. Please make a comment if you have a thought on what a sister might like….I would love to hear your ideas!!

There are ten varieties of Middle Sister wine. From Chardonnay, to Pinot Noir, and three blends, you are sure to find your favorite flavors. The wines are very accessible at prices ranging from $9-15. I can always find them at the Target stores in my area and I think the brand is pretty easy to find at many locations in the US.

This week, I tried the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Moscato. For this post, I decided to include an overall review of the Middle Sister wines together rather than focusing on just one of them. So, from myself and the experts, you’ll see thoughts that cover many of the wines in the brand’s lineup.

Thoughts from the Brand

Middle Sister hits it out of the park when it comes to describing their wines. On the bottle, there is a description that not only tells you about the wine, but gives you more detail on the personality of the sister behind the wine. For example, here’s the story from the back of “Mischief Maker” (Cabernet):

Have you ever dated brothers? Worn leather pants to a wedding? Paired white wine with read meat? Then you just might be a mischief maker. You keep us up after bedtime on a school night. You change your hair color like most people change their socks. You make lives more complicated, but less boring. You’ll be in the stories we tell our grandchildren. You love trouble. And we love you.

If you head online, you find even more information on each wine. The details include things like the smell, taste, awards, and what the wine is “yummy with”.

My Thoughts

Branding 101….create a great product and give it a personality that creates both a rational and emotional connection to the brand. In my mind, this is what Middle Sister has done to perfection. This is not just about wine. I believe this brand “gets me” and provides an experience that I want to be a part of. I’m not even a middle sister, but I can totally relate to the personalities conveyed!

The wine itself is very good. Note, I did not say great. If I think about all the wines I’ve had over time, the Middle Sister flavor would sit middle of the pack. A good wine that I enjoyed drinking and would definitely drink again. However, as I said at the beginning, the wine is just part of the reason I will continue to purchase and follow Middle Sister.

The second (possibly larger) part of my rationale is the connection to the brand. I’ve been a fan of Middle Sister for a while on Facebook and I’ve seen how this brand really makes you a part of a community of like-minded people. Everyone can relate to the sisters. You know which one you are and you can classify each of your friends. It’s fun. It puts a little sunshine in your day.

Yes, in the end, you have to enjoy the wine. However, Middle Sister has proven that it doesn’t just have to be about the wine. And, wine doesn’t have to be so serious. Thanks Middle Sister for bringing personality to my glass!

Thoughts from the Web

As I headed online to read the reviews, the thing that struck me was the volume of reviews from bloggers. Typically, I find reviews from sites like snooth.com and more formal wine bloggers. This time, those reviews were blended with thoughts from more general bloggers. To me, this is a sign that the Middle Sister brand has broken a lot of norms and truly does stand out as unique in the wine market. Below is just a sampling of what I came across.

From The Good Wine Guru, I felt that this overall review really summed up what I was hearing from many sites:

While certainly not a game-changing life-altering wine, Middle Sister does a great job of working its way into the affordable table wine niche and not trying to be something it’s not.

I came across Baby and the Geek who selects wines for their labels….and she’s proud of it – we think alike!

I’ll be honest, when I choose a wine, I go by the label design. If I like the design, I’ll buy it. I know that a lot of people would turn their noses up at that or roll their eyes, but I’m just me. I like a little wine every now and then after a long day and I don’t have the time to get a proper “wine education”.

From the Best Pinot Noir site, I found another who loves the branding of the label and had this to say about the wine:

A little bit more playful than its Pinot Noir counterparts, Goodie Two Shoes has a sort of chocolately-cola taste at times, which makes it a perfect party wine. Not too serious but completely satisfying for the adventurous wine fan, Goodie Two Shoes is a safe bet when toasting to your perfect middle sister or simply for a night when a more serious Pinot Noir won’t do.

From the Better Buy It blog, this post succinctly states the connection with the brand:

i love wine. i love any kind of wine. the clincher is if the wine is good and the bottle is cute. Middle Sister Wines meets both of my criteria.

And finally, this post on Moms Who Need Wine, provided a perspective from those who aren’t thrilled with the taste of the wine, but were drawn in by the branding:

The taste did not live up to my expectations. To be fair, this is a table wine and by its very nature should be simple and crowd pleasing. This California red blends zinfandel, merlot and cabernet sauvignon for a taste that is sweet without being too overwhelming. The aroma is mild with subtle hints of dry fruits and cherry through the finish. In my expert opinion, Rebel Red drinks like an $8 wine with a $5 surcharge courtesy of the fun label.

Summary

The key to Middle Sister is the connection to the brand and the personality that they have created with their wines. While you may not see them as the “best you’ve ever had” when it comes to taste, I believe you will find them enjoyable to drink. They have good, solid flavor at a price that is very affordable.

I would recommend creating a fun girls night out with these wines. Invite 9 friends, assign each to bring one of the bottles, come dressed as your assigned sister, and have a wine tasting party you won’t soon forget. In fact, I’m really loving that idea….friends be warned. I see a party brewing!

Cheers!

This week the blog is focusing on the Middle Sister brand. For the first time I’ve chosen to cover the whole brand instead of just one wine. One look at the labels and I think you will know why they are my pick!

I’ve followed Middle Sister for a year or so and I really like the branding (more to come in the backstory).

Each of the wines has it’s own unique personality. Yet, they all tie seamlessly together under the story of Middle Sister. I purchased two of the wines this week – the “Mischief Maker” (cabernet) and “Sweet & Sassy” (moscato).

I’ll say it again….I just love the graphics they use on the bottles!! The sketch format with the middle sister all decked out in her designated personality, is just so fun. The Mischief Maker is dressed in black leather with an orange shirt, while Sweet & Sassy has on a cute little purple dress.

I’ll cover the other Middle Sisters in the collection a bit more in both the taste and backstory posts this week.

After getting the bottles home and preparing to take my first sip, I wanted to make sure to take a picture of the cork through the glass. Since I’ve had the wine before, I knew what to expect under the foil. However, each time it’s just as fun to see the “sisters”.

The cork is a synthetic, but has the image of girls across the length on two sides. Very fun!

The consistent personality of Middle Sister comes across in everything they do. From Mischief Maker to Sweet & Sassy, I hope to learn more about what each sister brings to the table. I look forward to exploring the brand this week and using the fun and funky sisters as inspiration for some really cool designs.

This week, the focus was on Mississippi Mud – a pre-mixed black and tan. I loved the growler packing of the brew and was disappointed not to be able to find any information about the brand online.

The Process

As I set out to create the designs this week, I had three primary “pieces” to work with…the growler, the screw top cap and the label.

Early in the week, I decided that I wanted to leave the growler intact instead of breaking it for the glass. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with the label and cap.

I tried to cut the logo out of the top of the cap thinking that I might use the pieces as part of a key chain. However, as I worked with the cap, I just wasn’t able to get a section that I was happy with.

Then, I turned to the label. The material was more of a vinyl than the typical paper label. I picked different sections, considered putting the sections on beads in a bracelet. In the end, the result was similar to the cap…nothing really struck me as cool and interesting. I decided that was OK and just focused on my plans for the growler.

The Design

So, you may wonder what was the plan for the growler….I decided I wanted to paint it. A little research let me know that I should use enamel paint on glass. I picked out a number of colors and settled on the combination of orange, green, and yellow. After testing the colors on another brown bottle, I set in to designing and here’s the final design:

For this first venture into glass painting, I used several stencils to create an interesting layout in the overall design. The little triangle dots were done freehand. In fact, that little trick was pulled from my scrapbooking days. I used to put those dot triangles around the pages as filler when I felt I had too much white space.

I think this cute little jug could be set on a shelf on it’s own or a flower could be added for an interesting centerpiece.

Summary

This time, stencils did most of the work in the design. I would like to try the painted bottle again sometime. I think I would try a bit more freehand design the next time. While this week’s creation is far from jewelry, I would love to know what you think about my first attempt at painting on glass.

The only interesting fact I was able to find is that the beer is brewed in Utica, NY. How odd that a brand with the name Mississippi Mud is brewed in New York….just doesn’t seem right! I expected a southern brewery with a rich history. Instead, I found nothing.

So, I’m off to design with what I have – a cool growler and an interesting label.

Thoughts from the Brand

From the bottle, we get this wonderful description of the history behind the brew:

Dating back to 18th century England, the custom of blending pale and dark beers has kept the “Black & Tan” a favorite of experienced beer drinkers for centuries. Our famous recipe combines a robust classic porter with a fine continental pilsner, preserving the character of each, while creating the classic taste of the legendary “Black & Tan”. We bring you the best of both beers as they meet in Mississippi Mud.

My Thoughts

My big question as I poured the beer was wondering if the porter and pilsner would separate into layers the way I expect with a black & tan. I poured, I waited, and finally decided that the brew was not going to break into the layers.

Although the layers weren’t there, I thought the color of the brew was great. The taste was next. I don’t know what I expected, but I thought it was good – not necessarily great, but good. The taste of the porter is dominant and the pilsner just takes a bit of the really strong edge off that porter flavor. Similar to the reviews below, I was able to taste a bit of a chocolate flavor which I found enjoyable.

Thoughts from the Web

Beer Advocate gives Mississippi Mud a rating of 70 – average. Here are a couple overall reviews from the site:

A premium beer? Yep. Chocolate and caramel sweetness paired with toasted bread. The flavors are lighter, present but fast to disappear, leaving only a light chocolate behind. Exactly what I remember it being – a run of the mill black and tan in a very cool container. – akorsak

Decent enough. I could see polishing off one or two of these at a party. Nothing that’ll wow you but not bad for just kicking around. – DirtyPenny

I also found from BellaOnline this quote that speaks to how Mississippi Mud is different from a British black & tan.

Black and Tan is an American hybrid of the English traditions from which it was born. Whereas British style Black & Tan is a mix of British ale (Bass) and Irish stout (Guinness), Mississippi Mud is a blend of Continental Pilsner (light and crisp) and English Porter (sweet and malty).

Summary

This is one of those beers that I would definitely buy to take to a party as a conversation piece. The taste is good, but it’s really the packaging and the uniqueness of pre-mixed black & tan that would be the reason for the pick.

This week, the choice jumped out at me as soon as I stepped foot into the beer aisle. As I scanned the options, my eyes immediately fell on the cool little Mississippi Mud growler. The growler stands about 8 or 9 inches tall and has a very distinct personality among all the traditional bottles and cans.

After I was hooked by the growler design, I realized that the beer itself was a black & tan which intrigued me even more. I’ve only ever had a couple black & tans…..always on St. Patricks Day, made the traditional way. So, I wondered what a pre-mixed black & tan might taste like. This week, I will know!

Because I can’t help myself, I’m already thinking ahead to design possibilities. I have to admit that I don’t know if I can bring myself to break this cute growler and use the glass…..I’m thinking I need to brainstorm options with keeping it intact and becoming something new and different.

This week, I was drawn to the Blufeld Riesling because of the cobalt blue bottle and whimsical floral label. I was anxious to work with the bottle glass and really focus on the highlighting the wonderful color.

The Design Process

As I thought about what to create this week, my mind kept returning to the bezel designs from last week. I really like the idea of creating little montages inside the bezels and setting the designs in resin. So, I decided I wanted to create some more designs that incorporated that general idea.

Instead of sand this time, I broke portions of the bottle into really tiny pieces and placed the shavings into circular bezels. I had three small, round “link” bezels and one larger circular pendant bezel. The design I had in mind for these pieces was a necklace. After the resin had hardened and I went to create the design, I realized two of the link pieces were unusable. Here’s a picture….they are so cute, an yet so unusable!

The resin had gotten into the holes where the connector rings attached. I tried everything, but couldn’t seem to get the resin out. So, I started to rethink the design with one pendant and one link.

In addition to the bezels, I selected several pieces of the broken glass to use as beads and pendants in the design. The edges were smoothed and I used sections of the cute, whimsical label to add a bit of personality.

The Collection

After a lot of redesigning and moving pieces around, I ended up with two necklaces and five pendants in this collection. All incorporate the beautiful cobalt blue glass. I feel like these designs can be worn to work or for a night out and many wouldn’t even realized the jewelry was created from a wine bottle!

The Designs

I’ll start with the four pendants that are slightly different variations on the same theme:

These designs all have a piece of glass from the bottle as the foundation. Sections of the flowers from the wine label were added giving the pieces a summery, slightly whimsical feel. After the wine label sections were added the pieces were wrapped in wire and a chain was added.

The first necklace design incorporates the two useable bezel pieces I created. As mentioned above, glass was crushed, placed inside the bezel with some accent pieces and secured in resin.

These pieces were combined with two styles of silver chain and recycled cobalt blue glass beads to create the overall look. I like how the asymmetrical design works with the pendant.

After creating this first necklace, I had several circles from the chain left over and I wanted to try something new with those. I thought it would look interesting to suspend a bead inside the circle. So, after a bit of trial and error, I got the bead inside. I paired that element with a piece from the bottom of the wine bottle to create the fifth pendant.

This design has a very unique and distinctive look. I’m honestly not sure if I could manage to recreate the style, but I sure like how this one turned out!

The final necklace design features a blue tumbled glass pendant combined with sections of the bottle, recycled glass beads, and a darker metal chain.

The length of this design makes it perfect to wear with many things. Similar to the first necklace, I like how the asymmetrical design adds a very unique personality to the piece.

Summary

The blue glass of the Blufeld Riesling wine bottle provided the perfect foundation for some beautiful pieces. I was glad to have the opportunity to continue to work with the intricate bezel designs and learn more about the technique. I really like the look that is created and know I will use this style in future work.

What do you think of the designs this week? Do you have a favorite?

This week, I was able to find out a bit more about the brand online. Blufeld does have both a website and a Facebook page. I also came across several articles about the brand. Here’s what stood out to me as noteworthy.

About the Wine

For the Blufeld Riesling, blue slate in Germany gives this riesling the distinct flavor. Here is the description of the growing process they provide on their website:

High above the banks of the Mosel River, a unique blue slate terror reflects the sunshine of the day, warming vines and allowing grapes to ripen to the perfect point of sweetness. This distinctive blue slate is the inspiration for Blufeld Riesling.

Fresh, Fun Marketing

I enjoyed the personality that came across on both the Blufed website and Facebook page. When you open the website, a wine glass is filled with dropping flowers from the logo:

The animation happens quickly and is lots of fun to watch. I reloaded the site a couple of times just to see the flowers drop in again. While I was impressed by the overall look of the website, I do wish there had been a bit more content. There were just a few pages with very succinct information. For someone out exploring to learn more about the brand, you might be a bit disappointed and hoping for more.

I also really enjoyed the personality the brand has been able to express via their Facebook page. Fun and whimsical are the words that come to mind for me. Here’s the look of their page:

A wine bottle, relaxing on a hammock on the beach….the image just makes me smile. I also love the personality of their profile picture. The content on the page is good, but the last post was on March 30th. I would enjoy seeing updates a bit more frequently.

Summary

As I head into the design phase with Blufeld, the whimsical and fun aspects of the brand have been reinforced. I’m also intrigued by the blue slate. My mind is full of ideas….we’ll see where they end up!

This week’s featured wine is a 2010 Blufeld Riesling from Mosel, Germany.

Thoughts from the Brand

On the front of the bottle, the wine is described as a “medium sweet” riesling. Turning the bottle around, you see this deeper description:

Inspired by the stunning blue slate soil of German vineyards, medium-sweet blufeld combines citrus, peach and floral aromas, a juicy mid-palate and a crisp, refreshing finish. Pairs perfectly with spicy cuisine, sushi, salads or light appetizers.

My Thoughts

As I mentioned in my introduction post, riesling is not typically on the top of my wine selection list. A key reason is the sweetness of the wine. I’m the only wine drinker in my house and often, at a glass a day, one wine takes me through a big part of a week. So, I like universal flavors that will pair nicely with a variety of foods or stand on it’s own as a late afternoon drink. Rieslings are often too sweet for me.

However, the Blufeld was different. There was a bit of sweetness that I expected, but that was balanced nicely with flavors that did not leave me feeling like I had just had dessert. I was very surprised that the brand descriptions suggested pairing with spicy cuisine. I tried that pairing and they were right – the wine held it’s own wonderfully. The next time I have the urge for a riesling, I will have a hard time making a selection outside Blufeld.

Thoughts from the Web

While I did a lot of searching on the web, most of the sites just included the brand description as an introduction to the wine. I did find some information from Snooth.com where the wine receives a rating of 3.5 out of 5 and had the following reviews:

This $10 German Riesling offers juicy apple and floral notes on the nose that got me excited to sample it. On the palate, it has a light sweetness with a mouthful of peach and a pleasant level of acidy to balance out the sweetness. – Foodwinechickie

Appearance: Clear – Pale Lemon. Nose: Clean – light intensity – Fruit (peach, grapefruit, citrus), Floral Palate: Medium sweet – high acidity – medium body – medium length – Fruit (Grapefruit, Peach), Floral (honeysuckle?) Very good – fresh tasting wine. – GretchenMarie

Summary

If a riesling isn’t normally on your wine selection list, I would recommend giving Blufeld a try. I think the light sweetness is perfect for a warm summer afternoon out on the deck! Have you tried Blufeld Riesling? If so, let me know what you thought.
